May Events at The Wool Hub

Join the Woolly Nanas for a fun-filled May at The Wool Hub! Don't miss the Woolfest on May 25th, complete with alpacas and crafts, and explore various workshops and drop-ins throughout the month.

Celebrate the joys of woolcraft with the Woolly Nanas at the Wool Hub this May! We're thrilled to invite you and your family to our highlight event, the Woolfest, on Sunday, May 25th from 2-5pm at Orchard Millennium Green in Buckfastleigh. Admission is free, but consider making a donation to enter our prize draw. The festival will feature alpacas, sheep, and a variety of activities including felting, weaving, spinning, stalls, talks, music, and refreshments.

Throughout May, The Wool Hub offers an exciting lineup of workshops and children's sessions:

  • Natural Dyeing Workshop - May 3rd, 11am to 2pm, £20. Learn to dye wool and cotton using natural materials with Noni.
  • Spinning Skills Improvement - May 10th, 10am to 12:30pm, £30. Enhance your spinning skills with Jackie Millichap.
  • Rug Making Workshop - May 11th, 10am to 4pm, £40 plus £10 for materials. Create your own small rug.

For our younger crafters, join our term-time crafting sessions:

  • Felting Fun - Mondays, 3:30 to 5pm, £15. Ages 8+.
  • Young Weavers - Tuesdays, 3:30 to 5pm, £15. Suitable for all ages.
  • Crochet with Evelyn - Thursdays, 3:30 to 4:30pm, £3.

Don't miss our Two Moors Pine Marten Project Free Workshops on needle felting animals and plants, every Friday from 1-5pm at the Wool Hub.

Our weekly drop-in sessions are open to all ages and abilities, with a suggested donation of £5:

  • Monday - Felting with Marcelle, 10:30am to 12:30pm.
  • Tuesday - Weaving, Knitting & Natural Dyeing with Noni & Annie, 10am to 3pm.
  • Wednesday - Spinning and Weaving with Mandy, 10am to 2pm. Basic Knitting Introduction with Mandy, 11am to 1pm.
  • Thursday - Spinning and Knitting with Mandy, 10:30am to 4:30pm. Crochet and knitting with Ann in the mornings.
  • Friday - Felting with Rita, 1 to 5pm.
