Buckfastleigh Town Lottery supports local causes

Buckfastleigh Town Lottery invites residents to join a not-for-profit draw supporting community groups across the parish. Entries help fund grants, with over £1,800 given this year, and give you the chance to win weekly cash prizes.

Our own Buckfastleigh Town Lottery is a not-for-profit community lottery, raising small but meaningful grants for local groups, events and good causes within the parish. It was originally run by local traders from Huckaby’s and, since Huckaby’s closed, the lottery has been taken on by the Buckfastleigh Town Lottery organisation, now running from J Searle & Son. If you’d like to lend a hand simply by taking part, we’d love to have you on board.

This year, thanks to supporters across the town, the fund has awarded over £1,800 to local groups. Every entry helps — and there’s a weekly chance to win a cash prize too.

How it works:

  • Prize fund: 55% of the weekly stake money is returned as prizes, with a weekly jackpot plus second and third prizes.
  • Entries: You can have as many entries as you wish.
  • Cost: £1 per week in cash, or £4.34 per calendar month by standing order.
  • How to pay: Pay cash in the premises of J Searle & Son, or set up a monthly standing order.
  • Results: Winners are posted each week in the shop window and shared on Facebook.

Grants for local groups: Community groups are warmly invited to apply for grants. Please get in touch for the full criteria — it’s available on request. If you email, kindly mark the subject line “Buckfastleigh Town Lottery” to help us direct your message.

Your support keeps this friendly, long‑running town tradition going and puts money back into Buckfastleigh where it’s needed. Come and join in — we’d love to see you take part.
