Buckfastleigh tidy-up planning meeting

Residents are shaping a Buckfastleigh town tidy-up, from litter picking to tackling weeds and smartening Dartbridge Road. If you’d like to help, join the next planning meeting at the Valiant Soldier on Wednesday 14 January 2026.

Following a notice in the November News Sheet, a good number of local residents came together to share practical ideas for tidying up Buckfastleigh. Suggestions included litter picking, tackling weeds creeping across footpaths, and sprucing up key routes for visitors — especially along Dartbridge Road, which gives many people their first glimpse of the town.

It was a warm, can‑do start, and the next step is to meet again and turn those ideas into a simple plan. If you care about your street, green space or favourite walk, you’ll be very welcome.

Next meeting:

  • Wednesday 14 January 2026
  • 2.30pm
  • Valiant Soldier (the town’s historic former pub and heritage centre)

If you feel your area would benefit from a clean‑up and you’re interested in helping, please come along. Bring your suggestions for the places that most need attention — from weeds on pavements to litter hot‑spots — and let’s make a noticeable difference together.
