As the wet weather sets in, it’s a lovely excuse to put the kettle on, pick up your needles, hook or hand‑sewing, and enjoy a cosy hour or two. Handmade gifts are always a joy to give and receive; last year, hats made for a cancer care ward were warmly received. Whatever you’re working on over Christmas and the New Year, very best wishes for 2026.
Purl and a Pint is a friendly, informal craft meet‑up at The Kings Arms, Buckfastleigh. All makers are welcome — knitting, crochet, embroidery, mending and more — and if you’re new, do pop along for a natter and a drink. (In knitting, a “purl” is the companion to the knit stitch, so complete beginners are just as welcome as old hands.) We’d love to see you there.
