Valiant Soldier winter events and opening times

Valiant Soldier Museum Heritage & Visitor Centre invites you to its winter programme with hot drinks, local art, vintage vinyl and a pop-up shop of gift ideas, including free Wintertide entry. Winter opening is Wednesdays only, with hours resuming in March.

As the nights draw in, the Valiant Soldier Museum Heritage & Visitor Centre – Buckfastleigh’s much‑loved former pub preserved much as it was in the 1960s – has a warming run of winter events. Come and join us for a browse, a cuppa, or a festive tipple.

Winter events:

Saturday 29 November 2025 – Wintertide @ the Valiant. Our “Zero Bar” is open 10am–5pm for hot chocolate, mulled fruit punch and soft drinks. There’ll be plenty of lovely gifts, featuring Timeless Garments by Claire Dunn, local artists’ original art, and Jon’s vintage vinyl. Entry to the museum is free all day.
Wednesday 3 December 2025 – Street Fair. The Valiant bar opens 4pm–10pm during the fair with festive boozy drinks: Christmas punch, hot chocolate and a selection of ales. Our pop‑up shop will be stocked with local craft items, jewellery, greetings cards, puzzles, 2026 calendars and more.

Winter opening hours:

Wednesdays, 10am–3.30pm (last entry 3pm) throughout the winter. Regular opening times resume in March 2026.
