St Luke's Church

St Luke's Church is seeking growth in attendance, particularly among younger adults. They welcome all to their services and offer support through their Foodbank on Friday mornings.

St Luke's Church

It has been called “the quiet revival.” The results of a recent study demonstrate that over the space of the last six years there has been a significant growth in the numbers of people going to church, especially amongst younger adults – Christians are practising their religion more intentionally; more young people are finding faith; more people are reading the Bible.

St Luke’s aims to be part of this. We want to help people to find their way to faith in God, and in particular to trust in Jesus Christ. So, we always list the Sunday services we run as an important part of what we do, but we aim to do far more than just run a single weekly event.

We are a small group, mostly of a certain age, but we welcome everybody and we are here to answer your questions with honesty and openness, and without putting anybody under pressure. So do get in touch – come to a service, look at our website, or give us a ring.

Sunday services in September
September 7: Quiet evening service of Compline at 6.00pm.
September 14 and 28: Holy Communion at 11.00am.
September 21: Lay-led Morning Worship at 11.00am.
We are an inclusive church, and we want everybody to feel welcome at our services, regardless of age or background, or whether you have any experience of attending church services, or any clear understanding of faith in God.

Help from the Foodbank
Food or other support is available for those in need. Also advice from our CAB worker, who can often help in finding financial assistance. The Foodbank and the accompanying café run on Friday mornings at St Luke's from 10am. If you need help, call in on a Friday morning, or ring 01364 644485. (Messages can be left at any time).

A recent baptism
It was lovely to have the baptism of Yehan in a recent service.
