Join Better Places for Hello Summer in Buckfastleigh

Join us for a summer full of free activities for children and families in Buckfastleigh, including daily swim sessions, games, crafts, and exciting events like the Buckfastleigh Water Day and a coach trip to Exeter. Open to all families in the area and HAF eligible children from Devon.

Hello Summer is back in Buckfastleigh, and it's offering a delightful array of free sessions for children and their families! Open to all families in Buckfastleigh and the surrounding areas, plus all HAF (Holiday Activity and Food) eligible children in Devon. Every day features a free swim session in the pool and a free lunch. Surrounding these are a host of fun and varied activities, whether enjoying the park or going on a trip. In case of wet or windy weather, we'll move to an indoor space.

Programme of Events:

Tuesday, 22nd July: Swim and Games Day in the park with the lifeguards.
Wednesday, 23rd July: Model Village Day - create a scrap model village of Buckfastleigh and make clay versions of ourselves, plus swimming!
Thursday, 24th July: Games with Nerea and enjoy the Bin Rat Show by Theatre Alibi, brought to you by Villages in Action, plus swimming!
Saturday, 26th July: Buckfastleigh Water Day at Orchard Millennium Green. Celebrate with puppet and flag making, wool crafts, a free lunch for children, BBQ, ice cream, and a lively procession to end the day. Join in activities with the Woodland Trust, Dartmoor National Park, Headland Project, and Buckfastleigh Town Council.
Monday, 28th July: Bioblitz and Microscope Photography, plus swimming.
Tuesday, 29th July: Swim and Games Day in the park with the lifeguards.
Wednesday, 30th July: A Play in a Day with Libby and Ryan - help create a wonderful play with games and music, culminating in a 2pm show, plus swimming.
Thursday, 31st July: Local Trip (TBC), Games with Nerea, Arts and Crafts, plus swimming.
Monday, 4th August: Bouncy Castle and Treasure Hunt, plus swimming.
Tuesday, 5th August: Swim and Games Day in the park with the lifeguards.
Wednesday, 6th August: Make your own Shadow Puppets and enjoy the Piskie Path Glove Puppet Show Performance at 1pm, plus swimming.
Friday, 8th August: Exciting trip by coach to Exeter, visiting RAMM Museum and enjoying the fun at Exeter Quay Festival.
Monday, 11th August: Bouncy Castle and Space Hopper Games in the park, plus swimming.
Tuesday, 12th August: Swim and Games Day in the park with the lifeguards.
Wednesday, 13th August: Fancy Dress, Photo Booth, and Karaoke Day, plus swimming.
Thursday, 14th August: Celebrate the Sea Day with sea-themed crafts at Buckfastleigh Library and a visit from Wembury Marine Centre, plus swimming.
