Come and get crafty with the Woolly Nanas at The Wool Hub, 1a Fore Street, Buckfastleigh. We’ve a friendly mix of children’s sessions, weekend workshops, and free drop-ins for all ages. Please book for children’s and weekend sessions — see contact details below.
Regular school-term sessions for children:
- Mondays, 3.30–5pm — Felting for children aged 8+ with Marcelle. £12 per session.
- Tuesday 2 July 2024, 3.30–5pm — Weaving class for children. £12 per session.
- Tuesday 9 July 2024, 3.30–5pm — Weaving class for children. £12 per session.
- Tuesday 16 July 2024, 3.30–5pm — Weaving class for children. £12 per session.
- Thursdays, 3.30–6pm (approx.) — Crochet for young people with Carly; spinning and knitting with Ruth. Donations please.
Weekend workshops:
- Dates to be confirmed — Machine Knitting with Alice. £5 per person.
- Saturday 13 July 2024, 10.30am–3pm — Making a Birthday Crown (needle felting and sewing). £40.
Summer holidays:
- Closed: 3–11 August 2024.
- NEW Children’s Summer Textile Club: 12–15 August 2024, 10am–3pm. Cost £140; subsidised places may be available.

- Fridays, 10.30am–3pm — Feltmaking: bring your own project and materials or watch demonstrations.
At The Community Hub (Old Methodist Church, Chapel St):
- Fridays, 12 noon–3pm — Tapestry weaving. All welcome to work on the Community Weaving Project.
- Saturday 20 July 2024, 10am–3pm — Processing fleece: washing, spinning, dyeing, weaving on the story loom.
- Saturday 22 August 2024, 10am–3pm — Spinning, dyeing, weaving on frames for the Moor Threads Community Weaving Project.
You can also weave and dye on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and spin on Thursdays, at our regular drop-in sessions at The Wool Hub.
